Enchanting in WoW Forever: leveling on dust and launch demand
Enchanting guide for WoW Forever: level to 300 without going broke, which launch enchants sell, and how to feed the craft without a gatherer.

Enchanting in WoW Forever is a patience craft. It eats greens, returns dust and essence, and pays off at the top end where weapon enchants sell for hundreds of gold. Launch week is the worst time to level it and the best time to stockpile for it, so plan around both facts.
How the craft works in Forever
Disenchant unwanted gear into dust, essence and shards, then enchant gear back up with those materials. The Forever rework keeps the Classic recipe spine and adds profession perks as skill climbs. Demand is eternal: every fresh 60 wants weapon enchants, and Crusader remains the marquee scroll once the economy can afford it.
Leveling 1 to 300 on a budget
Disenchant everything you outgrow while leveling; the skill rises with your character.
- 1-50: Disenchant greens. Free points.
- 50-110: Lesser Magic essence enchants and cheap stat scrolls.
- 110-200: Soul Dust enchants, then Vision dust brackets.
- 200-250: Dream Dust scrolls and enchant materials from level 50-55 greens.
- 250-300: Eternal essences, Large Brilliant Shards, and the weapon enchants that actually sell.
Rule one: never buy greens off the auction house to disenchant. Farm or receive them, or the craft bankrupts you.
What sells at launch
Crusader and the weapon damage enchants once prices settle, and bags-slot competition is nil since enchants have no rival craft. Early on, sell the materials instead: dust and shards outprice the scrolls while enchanters are still leveling. Switch to selling finished enchants when the shard market softens, usually a few weeks in.
Pairing professions
Enchanting plus Tailoring is the classic self-feed: craft greens, disenchant them, sell the rest. The pairing costs you a gathering slot, so it suits mains more than alts. Details on the cloth side are in the Tailoring guide.
FAQ
Is Enchanting worth leveling at launch? Level it as a byproduct of questing and hold your materials. Selling dust and shards in weeks one and two beats selling enchants.
What is the fastest way to 300? Disenchant your own greens while leveling, craft only orange recipes, and save shards for the 250+ stretch.
Which enchants sell best early? Weapon damage and stat enchants for fresh 60s. Crusader dominates once materials become affordable.
